Vellano

Vellano until 1928 was a separate municipality from the province of Lucca, until its abolition joined the town of Pescia. The town of Vellano rises in the area that takes its name Pesciatina Switzerland, and borders with the municipalities of Villa Basilica, Bagni di Lucca, Piteglio, Marliana, Massa and Cozzile, Buggiano and Pescia. The emblem of the country is composed of three trees core, with reference to the name of the capital.
